How to spot a prepago before you meet

Prepagos use the same dating apps as everyone else. Nobody announces it, so the first real conversation is usually where you find out. The signs are consistent enough to spot early.

In the messages

• She asks what hotel you are in before she asks anything about you.
• The conversation moves to WhatsApp within a few messages.
• She asks how long you are in the country and when you fly out.
• Photos are studio quality or heavily edited, and there are only two or three.
• She mentions "ayuda" or asks about your work and salary early on.

When you arrange to meet

• She suggests your hotel or apartment rather than a public place.
• She wants a taxi paid in advance.
• She is available immediately, at any hour, on the day you ask.

What to do

None of these is proof on its own. A woman can ask where you are staying for ordinary reasons. But three or four together is a pattern, and the cost of being wrong is a wasted evening at best.

Suggest a public place at a time you choose. Someone working will usually lose interest, because a two hour coffee in a cafe is not what she is there for.

Why it happens more on some apps

Apps that verify nobody are easier to work on. A profile costs nothing, photos can come from anywhere, and a blocked account is replaced in five minutes. Sites that check identity at signup are more effort than they are worth.
